2025 BAM Philippines Conference Opening Remarks
A blessed morning, dear fellow Christian Stewards in the business world, esteemed Pastors, and all my dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
Greetings of grace and peace in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Welcome to the 3rd Business As Mission (BAM) Philippines conference. We are profoundly honored to have you all here for the next two days as we focus on our powerful theme: Chosen for God’s Purpose. Built to Last.
To our international delegates, a special welcome to those who have traveled all the way from Australia, Canada, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam. And a very special mention to our very own kababayans coming from all over the Philippines! It’s a joy to have this global community coming together on how we can truly live out the mandate of BAM.
This year marks a significant milestone as we are also celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the BAM ministry in the Philippines. Five years ago, we never imagined we could gather so many busy Christian business leaders from the Philippines and the international community. We can’t claim credit for it for this is made possible not by our human effort but by God who established the BAM Philippines movement as it testifies to His divine calling for us to rise up to be the Lord’s business stewards that he has given to us to manage. Together we are to carry the Great Commission in the businesses He has given to us!
I thank and praise God that every person here today is hungry to know what God’s mission is for us in the business world. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we all desire to know how we can be God’s missionaries in the businesses He has chosen us to steward for Him. For this reason, the theme_Chosen for God’s Purpose.
In the next two days, we will hear from our distinguished speakers who will expound more on the theme, testimonies from business owners/stewards, and also to hear and see BAM in action through the next generation of business owners. This will all culminate on how we will truly live out the Built To Last model. The theme also direct us to ask critical questions about legacy: As founders and current generational leaders, how do we ensure we leave a lasting, Godly impact on our children, relatives, and employees when we are no longer around, how will they manage the business that the Lord has entrusted to us? Will they be Biblical, Authentic, and Missional—carrying this legacy we left behind or will they be tempted to follow the “bad examples” that can creep into business practices? Will they see Jesus in us, inspiring them to share their faith openly within the company, or will we keep our faith hidden? Will we be a Sunday Christian only or living out our faith daily?
The fact is, we are called to leave a legacy built on godly business principles so that our mission endures for many generations. This is God’s mandate, and we obey it to honor Him. This is what the Business As Mission movement illustrates.
As we celebrate this 5th Anniversary, let's reflect on the journey God has led us through.
Last year, our challenge at the 2nd BAM conference was based on this commitment: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” That commitment, taken from Joshua 24:15b, remains our goal for 2025. It’s the foundational decision that makes everything else possible and that’s to serve the Lord faithfully as a business entity.
This year, as we look to build businesses that truly Last, our theme is a declaration of the truth we stand on, taken from Ezra 7:6b:
“The king had granted him everything he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.”
In this 3rd BAM conference, this verse is our encouragement! It reminds us that when we are Chosen for God's Purpose, His hand is on us, and His favor will equip us for everything He calls us to do.
Now, let us relax, be comfortable, and enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit, who is in our midst. He will lead us through every speaker and testimony, showing us how we can live out the mandate of our Lord Jesus in the ministry of Business As Mission, and see His hand working mightily in this two-day conference.
