What do we think of when we see a bar graph? We know it represents numerical or categorical data. For us Christian Business Owners, bar graphs are so much more than that. The entire graph portrays our life story, with each bar from dark to light signifying a specific journey - from a period of challenges with years of hard work, sweat, tears and dedication, to a blessed season of victory, and ultimately, a legacy continuing for generations. Now what makes this story unique is how it is beautifully written from beginning to end by the perfect Author, our Lord God.

Many do not know our true journey as they can only see what is right in front of them. We all have had a point in our life where things don’t seem to be going well, that our “bar graphs’ are shrinking and may even go below the line down to a negative. The opposite is also true, where we are surrounded by accolades and achievements yet still have that sense of unexplained longing.

Thankfully, as children of God, the Lord truly loves us and has a plan for us. He brought us out of darkness to fulfill a bigger purpose - His Great Commission! Slowly and surely, through lessons and encounters, the Lord is molding and equipping us in order to be used by Him.

Reflecting from where we are now, deep down in our hearts we know that the work we do as Christian Business Owners is not from our own minds or hands, instead it is by the grace of God alone. He has redeemed and transformed us to be appointed as stewards of His company, His people, His resources.

To faithfully continue this journey, we are led by the Holy Spirit being patient and gentle as a dove. We may face more trials but we trust that the victory is the Lord’s! And it is this faith, not our good works, that will please God. Therefore, like the wings of a majestic eagle, gliding and soaring high and wide, we cling on to the Lord, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Now, as we press forward and build our ”bar graphs,” let us remember to always give the highest glory and honor to our God alone!
