DR. GEORGE C.Y. SO

Dr. George C.Y. So, Professor MH LHD, serves as the Honorary Life President and Fellow of the Guang-dong Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Economic and Trade Association, Advisor to the our Hong Kong Foundation, established by Mr. J. H Tung, the first chief executive of HKSAR Government, Honorary Director of Hang Seng University Foundation, Board of Trustee of Guangdong Foshan University, a former member of the Foshan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Con- ference (8th-11th sessions).

He has received numerous awards, including one of China's Top Ten Economic Innovators, the 2019 Outstanding Person Award, the 2022 Outstanding Hong Kong individual Leadership Award, and the 2024 Outstanding Contribution Award from Global Outstanding Chinese cultural association.

A prominent leader in the Asian business community, Dr. So has held senior positions in Fortune 500 multinational corporations (Dow Chemical Pacific Limited & DuPont China Limited), possessing extensive experience in the chemical and technology-related industries.

During his tenure as General Manager and Global Sales Director at DuPont High-Tech Industries, DuPont Apollo Ltd., he successfully secured the establishment of DuPont's global thin-film R&D center based in Hong Kong Science Park and a 50MW thin-film solar production base in Shenzhen, earning him the United Nations Green Invest-ment Promotion Award.
