REV. DR. CHEW WENG CHEE
Senior Pastor Dr Chew Weng Chee is the Founding Pastor of Sidang Injil Borneo Kuala Lumpur (SIBKL), which he and his wife, Pastor Dr Lew Lee Choo, founded in 1994 while both were practising medical professionals — he as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, and she as a Paediatrician. In 1999, he left his medical career to answer God's call to full-time ministry. Over 30 years, he led SIBKL from a small congregation of 15 members to a vibrant intergenerational church of over 5,000 weekly attendees across multiple campuses, celebrating its 30th anniversary at the Megastar Arena with over 6,000 worshippers in 2024.
He holds a Master's degree in theology and stepped down as Senior Pastor in July 2024 at age 77, handing over to Pastor Isaac Ling. Now in his late 70s, he continues to mentor young pastors, strengthen smaller churches across West Malaysia, and support the East Malaysian church.
