LEON JALA

Leon Jala is the Group CEO of PEMANDU Associates and the eldest son of Dato' Sri Idris Jala. Of Kelabit heritage, he grew up across the Netherlands, East and West Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the UK, owing to his father's international career — an upbringing that shaped his love of storytelling and creative work. He spent over 11 years as a brand strategist and award-winning copywriter before joining PEMANDU Associates, where he has been involved in projects including Malaysia's National Transformation Programme and Nigeria's Economic Recovery & Growth Plan. He served as interim chairman of PEMANDU Associates in 2024–2025.

Alongside his corporate work, he is formerly the Executive Pastor and Head of Leadership Development at Holy Trinity Bukit Bintang Church, and co-hosts The Game of Impossible podcast with his father — one of Malaysia's fastest-growing podcasts on leadership, faith, and  transformation. He is married to Andrea and they have two children.
